Are you trying to apply for a US green card? Let’s discuss why the EB3 Visa might be the best option for you!
Facing one of the worst labor shortages in US history, employers across the country are turning to the EB3 Visa for help. The EB3 visa is the US Citizenship and Immigration Services third preference employment-based visa, which focuses on work in exchange for permanent US residency. To apply, an individual must fall under one of the three categories: skilled, professional, or unskilled workers.
- Skilled workers – Minimum of two years of industry experience and all the necessary education or training for the job.
- Professional workers – US baccalaureate or foreign equivalent related to the job placement required
- Unskilled workers – Requires less than two years of experience, education, or training
What is the EB-3 Unskilled Category?
The EB3 visa requirements for the first two subcategories are demanding, and therefore make them difficult to achieve. However, the EB3 Unskilled subcategory has much fewer requirements. EB3 unskilled allows US employers to sponsor foreign nationals for jobs that are experiencing a chronic labor shortage. Furthermore, these jobs have no training or experience requirements. Each year, the U.S. government allocates 10,000 of these visas offering Green Card status and permanent residency for workers and their families.
EB3 Unskilled Workers need only to be capable of the following:
- Demonstrate the ability to perform EB3 Unskilled labor (requiring less than 2 years of training or experience), that is not of a temporary or seasonal nature.
- Perform work for which qualified workers are not available in the United States.
- Meet any other requirements specified on the labor certification.
